The Story of Gurbaksh Chahal

Entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and founder of The Chahal Foundation.

Timeline: founder biography and Foundation history

01

The Foundation origin

The creation of The Chahal Foundation grew from Gurbaksh Chahal's response to the 2012 Oak Creek Sikh temple attack and his own childhood experience of discrimination.

He committed personal resources, public communication, and professional networks to launch #BeProud and build a lasting charitable mission.

02

Entrepreneurial context

Chahal entered digital advertising as a teenager and went on to found ClickAgents, BlueLithium, RadiumOne, and later technology ventures.

It presented entrepreneurship as the source of both resources and operating experience for the Foundation: building teams, moving quickly, using technology, and creating networks that can be mobilized around public needs.

03

Giving back as a responsibility

The biography framed philanthropy as a balance of opportunity and responsibility. People benefit from families, mentors, communities, and moments of opportunity; giving back creates those possibilities for someone else.

That philosophy shaped the Foundation's focus on education, anti-discrimination, child protection, community support, and humanitarian response.

04

Leadership and the Foundation mission

The leadership page introduces the Foundation board and governance structure. The media kit provides a concise founder biography and press resources, while Our Story traces the mission origin and program evolution.

Together, those pages connect the founder's entrepreneurial experience with the Foundation's continuing public-service mission.
