From a call to end hate to a blueprint for dignity.
A gunman stormed a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, murdering six people and wounding four more. The attack—rooted in white supremacist hate—shook the global Sikh community and echoed the discrimination immigrants continue to face.
For founder Gurbaksh Chahal, the headlines reopened childhood memories of being bullied for wearing a patka. Two decades later, the same prejudice had escalated into lethal violence. Something had to change.
Gurbaksh committed USD 1 million to launch The Chahal Foundation (initially #BeProud) with a message amplified by Priyanka Chopra, Deepak Chopra, and the Nelson Mandela family: stop hate, build hope, and set the standard for future generations.
What began as a call to end discrimination quickly evolved into a disciplined global operation focused on dignity—education, child protection, food security, safety & justice, and emergency response—all executed with measurable precision.

Partner kitchens and community pantries deliver 50,000+ meals a month—groceries and nourishment, delivered with dignity.

Through Procurenet’s command center we supported 274M people, enabling 1B vaccine doses across 13 governments and 300 suppliers.
