Gurbaksh Chahal
Gurbaksh Chahal is a serial entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist who founded The Chahal Foundation in November 2012 following the tragic shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. What began as a campaign against hate (#BeProud) evolved into a comprehensive global operation focused on dignity and measurable impact.
Born in the Punjab region of India, Gurbaksh immigrated to the United States at age four. He started his first company at 16 and went on to build and sell two advertising technology companies for over $340 million combined. His entrepreneurial journey includes being featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and authoring the bestselling book "The Dream."
Through The Chahal Foundation, Gurbaksh has channeled his business acumen into humanitarian work, supporting over 274 million people through crisis response, funding 1,948 scholarships, and transforming 212 schools across 42 countries. His approach combines the operational discipline of a tech company with the human warmth of community-based service.
